Donald Trump’s Weekend Meltdown Spirals Into His Most Racist Attack on Obama and Black Leaders Yet as Midterm Panic Visibly Sets In

President Donald Trump had just made a harsh comment about a Black congressman when he quickly went back online and started attacking other Black leaders. Within a short time, his posts grew wider, bringing up old complaints and repeating his usual warning that upcoming elections are under threat, making the situation seem bigger than normal politics.

Over the weekend, he made several strong comments, including calling House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries “low IQ” and insulting him, while also describing former President Barack Obama and former Attorney General Eric Holder in very negative terms. This fits a pattern where Trump questions the election system, especially when he feels it may not go in his favor.

At the same time, there is an ongoing disagreement over voting district maps in Virginia, which is starting to affect the bigger midterm election picture. People connected to Obama and Holder are supporting efforts to let voters decide on new district boundaries before the next election. This situation is adding to the tension and urgency seen in Trump’s recent statements.

Trump shared these comments on his platform, Truth Social, where he again made claims about election problems, even though similar claims in the past have not been proven. His posts also came as his administration continues making changes to institutions that had previously pushed back against his attempts to challenge the 2020 election results.

In one long post, he criticized Democrats and repeated his belief that the 2020 election was unfair. He also called on Republicans to take strong action, warning that opponents are moving quickly. He described them as dishonest and dangerous, even suggesting they were harming the country. He urged the Senate to remove the filibuster so his plans, including the Save Act—which would require proof of U.S. citizenship to vote in federal elections—could pass more easily.

Many people online reacted quickly. Some pointed out that he had recently called for calmer language after a shooting incident, but returned to strong attacks soon after. Others said his words seemed like preparation for influencing upcoming elections, while some warned that his statements sounded like a signal of what he might try to do next.

There were also questions about whether he personally wrote all the posts, but many focused more on what the messages could mean. Critics expressed concern about his use of strong language and how it might affect the country.

Earlier, Trump had also shared unusual images, many believed to be AI-generated, before focusing again on Jeffries. Jeffries responded by turning Trump’s tone back on him in a short message referencing a well-known anti-bullying campaign.

By Sunday, Trump returned again to talking about elections. He argued that elections must strictly follow constitutional rules, even if it causes delays, and suggested that Republicans could gain many seats in the midterms. He also continued criticizing Jeffries and even questioned whether he should face impeachment.

Jeffries responded again, using language similar to Trump’s usual style of labeling critics.

Across social media, reactions continued, with some saying Trump’s words reflected fear about losing control in Congress. Others linked his language directly to concerns about election fairness.

Experts have also raised deeper concerns. After the 2020 election, Trump’s claims of fraud were rejected by officials in his own administration, including former Attorney General William Barr. At that time, established systems and officials resisted those claims. However, reports now suggest many experienced election security officials have left their roles or been replaced, and some departments focused on election safety and misinformation have been reduced. In some cases, people who previously supported false claims about election fraud are now in positions that could influence how future elections are handled.
