They Are Lying!’ Karoline Leavitt Says ‘The Entire Pentagon is Working Against’ Pete Hegseth in Shocking Fox News Hit (Video)

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt caused a stir on Monday by defending Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and accusing the entire Pentagon of trying to sabotage him. Speaking on *Fox & Friends*, Leavitt pushed back hard against mounting criticism, including reports that Hegseth may have shared sensitive military details with his family in a private Signal chat.

Despite those concerns — and a sharply critical op-ed from a former Pentagon official — Leavitt insisted that President Trump continues to fully support Hegseth. She praised him as a strong leader who’s fighting for the troops and working to shake up a resistant Pentagon.

She went on to make a bold and dramatic claim: that the entire Department of Defense is working against Hegseth because they oppose the changes he’s trying to make. “There are people inside that building who don’t like the change Secretary Hegseth is bringing,” she said, accusing insiders of leaking information and lying to the media.

Her comments came in response to a *New York Times* article that said Hegseth shared news of a U.S. strike on the Houthis with his wife, brother, and lawyer in a group chat. The report cited four anonymous sources familiar with the messages. Around the same time, a *Politico* op-ed by former Pentagon spokesperson John Ullyot accused Hegseth of bringing chaos to the department and warned that even more damaging stories were likely coming soon.

Leavitt dismissed both the article and the op-ed as false and politically motivated. She insisted that no classified information was shared in Hegseth’s messages, but pointed the finger at the people leaking to the press — accusing them of committing a crime by exposing classified details.

“The people who are leaking this information are the real threat,” she said, adding that the administration would crack down hard on anyone putting national security at risk.

In a surprising move, the Department of Defense’s official X account echoed Leavitt’s message, repeating her claim that the entire Pentagon is fighting back against Hegseth’s “monumental change.” The public airing of such a dramatic internal conflict is rare, and the situation has now thrown the Pentagon into an even deeper state of controversy.
