JD Vance hits out at ‘loser’ amid reports of leak in his camp

There are growing rumors among Republicans that someone on Vice President JD Vance’s team has been leaking information to the media.

These suspicions have caused quite a stir, leading Vance to respond sharply. During a public event celebrating the Army’s 250th anniversary in Washington, D.C., where President Donald Trump was also present for his 79th birthday, Vance found himself at the center of attention for more than just his speech.

On social media, Vance hit back at one of his critics who claimed that someone in his inner circle was leaking sensitive details to news outlets like Politico and Axios.

The person behind the accusation was Republican strategist David Reaboi, who suggested that Trump should look into Vance’s staff to find out who’s responsible for the leaks. Reaboi’s post stirred controversy, especially among Trump supporters and conservative circles.

In response, Vance didn’t hold back. He quote-tweeted Reaboi’s post and wrote that the person making the accusation was a “loser” who had backed Ron DeSantis during the 2024 Republican primaries. Vance added that his team has been working extremely hard to carry out the president’s goals and dismissed the leak accusations as completely baseless. He wrote, “He has no evidence for this BS smear because there isn’t any.”

The online exchange continued when Reaboi clapped back by posting an old screenshot of him endorsing Vance, sarcastically saying, “Everybody makes mistakes.” Vance replied again, saying he has nothing personal against Reaboi but won’t tolerate attacks on his team. He emphasized that his staff has been putting in long hours, often at the cost of their personal lives and sleep, and called it unfair and discouraging to criticize them without proof.

The rumors haven’t stopped there. Some people online have pointed fingers at Buckley Carlson, son of conservative media figure Tucker Carlson, who became Vance’s deputy press secretary earlier this year. There’s speculation that he might be behind the alleged leaks, but no evidence has been presented.

Amid all this, Vance has also been defending President Trump’s stance on the worsening conflict between Israel and Iran. While some conservative leaders and Trump supporters have pushed back, Vance argued that Trump has been consistent for over a decade about preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

He said Trump has encouraged his foreign policy team to negotiate a deal with Iran to achieve this goal, stressing that Trump’s main priority is to use U.S. military power only to serve the interests of the American people.

Vance acknowledged that people have reasons to be cautious after years of failed foreign policy, but he insisted that Trump deserves some trust on this issue. He concluded by saying that, based on what he’s seen personally, Trump is focused entirely on protecting and advancing the goals of ordinary Americans.
