Ex-Bush Aide Says Kimmel Suspension Is Leading To ‘Corrupt’ Trump’s Sinister Plot

An analyst warned that people don’t have to guess what’s about to happen next, because Trump and his team have already made their plans clear.

David Frum, who once worked in the White House for President George W. Bush, said the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night show is not just about entertainment. He argued that it signals a bigger move by Donald Trump to silence the Democratic Party, limit its ability to raise money, and block open competition in the 2026 elections.

On CNN, host Erin Burnett highlighted how the White House mocked Kimmel’s suspension after he criticized conservative commentator Charlie Kirk. She then turned the conversation over to Frum, who laid out what he sees as a dangerous path ahead for Democrats.

Frum reminded viewers that Trump himself, in a public speech after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, said that fundraising for causes he doesn’t like would be targeted. His aide Stephen Miller also pushed this point strongly. Frum explained that earlier this year, Trump even ordered the Justice Department to investigate ActBlue, the main online platform Democrats use to collect small donations from supporters. In his view, the next step will be an aggressive effort to cut off Democratic fundraising and to suppress Democratic voices altogether.

Frum went further, saying Trump’s policies—like tariffs—have already hurt ordinary Americans. He accused Trump of corruption, pointing out that he has taken in billions through cryptocurrency schemes. Frum argued that Trump is terrified of losing a fair election in 2026, so he is using every opportunity, including the fallout from Kirk’s death, to reshape the political system in his favor. According to Frum, Trump’s real focus is figuring out how to prevent the next election from being truly free and fair.

Meanwhile, ABC announced that “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” has been canceled indefinitely. The network faced pressure from the FCC and major affiliate groups that own local stations carrying the show.

This decision has become a highly charged political issue. Conservatives, including Trump, claim Kimmel brought it on himself, while critics say it’s a dangerous attack on free speech.

Supporters of independent journalism are urging the public to stay involved and help defend press freedom, stressing that censorship is spreading and the truth is at risk of being erased. They argue that keeping strong, fact-based reporting alive depends on people’s continued backing.
