Donald Trump caused a stir online after posting a series of explosive claims that quickly caught the attention of lawmakers.

On Friday, the former president took to his social media platform to allege that several top officials — including FBI Director Christopher Wray, Special Counsel Jack Smith, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco were involved in what he called “Operation Arctic Frost.” Trump claimed these officials had “spied on senators and members of Congress,” even going as far as to say they “recorded their phone calls.”

He didn’t stop there. Trump accused them of “cheating and rigging the 2020 presidential election,” calling them “Radical Left lunatics” who should be “prosecuted for their illegal and unethical actions.”

The statement quickly drew reactions from political figures. Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse responded sharply, suggesting Trump’s mental state was declining. “As his mental faculties become more compromised, he turns into a caricature of himself,” Whitehouse said. He added that Trump’s inner circle, which he described as “obedient followers,” only made him more dangerous.

Whitehouse also mocked Trump’s claims, saying sarcastically, “Big if true! Merrick Garland, as a private citizen while Trump was in office — somehow rigged the 2020 election!”

The former president’s post has since sparked fresh debate in Washington, with critics accusing him of spreading baseless conspiracy theories, while his supporters insist he’s exposing government corruption.
