‘Very scary: Ex-Scientologist issues warning after Trump seen ‘hanging out’ with members

Former Scientologist Leah Remini has raised alarm, warning that people linked to the Church of Scientology are getting close to Donald Trump and his administration. She said this kind of influence is worrying and believes the group has quietly worked its way into positions of power around the president and within the federal government.

Her comments came after conservative radio host and writer Erick Erickson pointed out on social media that he had noticed several Scientologists appearing around Trump in recent days. Writing on X, Erickson said it seemed like there were “a lot of Scientologists hanging out in the President’s orbit lately,” suggesting it was not just a coincidence.

Remini strongly agreed with him and replied publicly, saying his observation was accurate and deeply concerning. She thanked him for being alert to what she described as the dangers of Scientology and claimed the organisation has been successful in inserting itself into the Trump administration and wider government circles. According to her, this kind of influence should not be ignored.

At the moment, it is still unclear exactly which members of the Church of Scientology have been seen around Trump or how close their involvement may be. However, one figure often mentioned in this context is Pam Bondi, who has long been reported to have connections to Scientology, which has added to the concern among critics.

The Church of Scientology itself remains highly controversial. Critics frequently describe it as a manipulative cult that exerts heavy control over its members, while supporters argue that it is a legitimate religion that helps people improve their lives and achieve personal success. The debate over its role and influence, especially in politics, continues to divide opinion.
