Angela Rayner Reveals the One Thing She Does That ‘Disgusts’ Her Children

Angela Rayner has spoken openly about her vaping habit and admitted that her children strongly dislike it.

During an interview with LBC, Rayner said her children are “disgusted” that she vapes. She explained that she has struggled with nicotine addiction since she was a teenager and wishes she could stop completely.

Around 5.5 million people in the UK use vapes, but Rayner said she understands that vaping could damage her health. She added that she would be devastated if any of her children started doing it.

Rayner explained that she began vaping to help her quit smoking. She said: “When I was a teenager, I thought smoking was cool, but it wasn’t. My children are disgusted that I vape.

“I started vaping because I wanted to stop smoking. I have struggled with nicotine since I was a teenager, and the addiction has come and gone over the years. I wish I could give it up completely.”

She said her experience with nicotine is one reason she supports tougher action against vape shops, especially those located near schools or selling colourful and sweet-flavoured products that may attract young people.

Rayner said: “I would be devastated if my children started vaping. That is why I want action against vape shops near schools and the flavours that appeal to children. Vaping is not cool.”

Her vaping habit has attracted attention before. In August last year, she was photographed vaping while sitting on a dinghy near Brighton beach. She has also revealed that her children jokingly call her a “vape dragon”.

Rayner previously said she planned to quit vaping before the Government introduced its ban on disposable vapes. However, when she was recently asked whether she still vapes, she admitted that she does.

“Unfortunately, I still vape,” she said. “I have reduced how much I do it, but I haven’t stopped completely.”

She described her nicotine use as a lifelong addiction and admitted that it could eventually affect her health. She made it clear that she does not consider vaping a safe or healthy habit.

Rayner was born in Stockport, Greater Manchester, in 1980 and grew up on a poor council estate. As a child, she helped care for her mother, who lived with bipolar disorder and depression.

Both of her parents were unemployed, and Rayner has previously said that her difficult childhood forced her to become responsible and grow up very quickly.
