Donald Trump reveals who he thinks killed JFK after releasing 80,000 declassified CIA files

Donald Trump has weighed in on the JFK assassination after releasing 80,000 pages of previously classified documents. The president shared his personal opinion on who he believes killed John F. Kennedy during an interview with OutKick’s Clay Travis aboard Air Force One. When asked if he thought Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone in shooting JFK, Trump responded: “I do, and I’ve always felt that. But of course, was he helped?”

The newly released documents, which many hoped would contain explosive revelations, turned out to be largely underwhelming according to Trump himself, who called them “somewhat unspectacular.” Experts suggest the files were kept secret for decades not because they contained shocking information about the assassination, but rather to protect CIA intelligence-gathering methods from the Cold War era.

The official version of events states that Oswald fired three shots from the Texas School Book Depository on November 22, 1963, killing the president as he rode in an open-top limousine through Dallas. Oswald was arrested but never stood trial – he was shot dead two days later by nightclub owner Jack Ruby while in police custody, fueling decades of conspiracy theories.

Trump’s comments reflect the lingering doubts many Americans still have about the assassination, even while accepting Oswald’s role. His suggestion that Oswald may have had help keeps alive questions about potential involvement from others, whether the mafia, anti-Castro Cubans, or government agencies. The missing file that conspiracy theorists most wanted to see – reportedly detailing a CIA officer’s alleged encounter with Oswald before the shooting – wasn’t included in this latest document release, ensuring the JFK mystery will continue to fascinate for years to come.
