A well-known political strategist has predicted that US President Donald Trump could leave office within the next few months.
James Carville, an experienced political adviser, believes Trump may resign early next year. He even suggested that April 15 could be the date when Trump decides to step down. However, this is only Carville’s personal prediction, and Trump has not said that he plans to resign.
Questions have recently been raised about Trump’s health and whether he is still able to carry out the demanding duties of the presidency. His reported visits to the Walter Reed medical centre in 2026 have caused people to pay closer attention to both his physical and mental health.
Trump is also facing criticism over his handling of the war with Iran. His changing statements and strategies have created uncertainty, while rising gas prices have added to concerns about the cost of living in the United States.

If Trump were to resign, Vice President JD Vance would normally be first in line to become president under the US Constitution. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has also been discussed as a possible future Republican presidential candidate.

Hartmann believes Trump Jr’s strong relationship with MAGA supporters and conservative influencers could help him gain influence within the Republican Party.
Carville also strongly criticised Trump’s handling of the conflict with Ir@n. He claimed the war has cost Americans a large amount of money without producing a clear victory.
According to Carville, Trump’s changing messages about Iran have made the situation more confusing. He said the president appears to move between threatening stronger military action and taking a softer position, leaving Americans uncertain about the government’s real strategy.
