JD Vance throws own White House under the bus with shocking admission

The White House strongly rejected a report published last Friday that claimed the United States was facing a growing counterintelligence threat linked to Israel. However, comments made by Vice President JD Vance on Monday night have led some people to question that denial.

The original report, published by NBC News, claimed that the Pentagon had raised its counterintelligence threat level regarding Israel to “critical,” which is reportedly the highest level possible. According to the report, U.S. officials were concerned that Israel had increased its intelligence-gathering activities inside the United States.

In response, the White House quickly dismissed the report, calling it completely false. Officials also argued that the sources quoted in the report did not have accurate knowledge of the situation and were not aware of what was actually happening behind the scenes.

However, during an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters on Monday, Vice President JD Vance appeared to take a different approach. When asked how worried he was about reports of Israel spying on the United States, Vance did not deny the possibility. Instead, he focused on the fact that while the United States and Israel are close allies, they do not always share the same interests.

Vance explained that the two countries work together on many important issues, but there are also times when their goals do not fully align. He pointed specifically to the situation involving Iran, saying that the United States remains focused on preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.

According to Vance, President Donald Trump believes there is now an opportunity to pursue a long-term solution regarding Iran’s nuclear program. He suggested that the U.S. will continue to follow what it believes is in its own national interest, regardless of whether Israel agrees with every aspect of that approach.

The discussion has also brought renewed attention to previous reports involving alleged Israeli intelligence activities inside the United States. Reports over the years have claimed that Israeli operatives were linked to attempts to place listening devices in sensitive locations connected to American government and military operations.

For example, reports have alleged that Israeli military intelligence officers were caught placing listening devices at the headquarters of the Defense Intelligence Agency in 2021. More recently, reports claimed that individuals connected to Israeli intelligence attempted to place a listening device inside a Secret Service vehicle. There were also reports that a senior U.S. military officer met with an Israeli official after recording devices were allegedly discovered at an American military facility.

While these allegations remain controversial and politically sensitive, Vance’s comments have sparked debate because he chose not to directly challenge the claim that Israel may be conducting intelligence operations against the United States. Instead, he emphasized that allies can sometimes pursue different objectives and that the U.S. government will continue making decisions based on what it believes is best for American national security.

The issue is likely to continue drawing attention as questions remain over the accuracy of the original report and the nature of intelligence activities between two of the world’s closest allies.
