This Man Was Thrown Out of McDonald’s After Harassing Women — He Came Back an Hour Later and Did Something Horrific

A violent man has been jailed after carrying out a brutal revenge attack that left a nightclub bouncer with life-changing injuries.

Braulio Joaquim Lemos, 33, had been inside a McDonald’s restaurant in Nottingham during the early hours of Friday, September 22, 2023, when he began bothering female staff and customers. Witnesses said he repeatedly approached women and asked for their phone numbers, making them feel uncomfortable.

A door supervisor stepped in and told him to stop harassing the women before asking him to leave the restaurant. Instead of walking away, Lemos became aggressive. During a confrontation outside at around 4am, he punched the bouncer in the face before leaving the area.

Rather than calming down, Lemos went home, changed into a hooded tracksuit, and armed himself with a baseball bat. More than an hour later, at about 5.18am, he returned to Clumber Street looking for revenge.

He hid behind a parked van, waiting for the right moment. When he spotted the bouncer, he suddenly rushed across the street and struck him on the side of the head with the baseball bat before running away with the weapon.

The attack was devastating. The victim was rushed to hospital, where doctors discovered he had suffered a fractured skull and a brain haemorrhage. Although he survived, the injuries have continued to affect him three years later. Police said he is still living with the consequences of the attack and is no longer able to enjoy a normal family life because of the lasting damage.

Detective Inspector Lisa Jones of Nottinghamshire Police said Lemos had plenty of time to cool down after the first confrontation. Instead, he deliberately chose to arm himself with a dangerous weapon and return to attack the victim in an act of revenge.

She said the level of violence used was completely unacceptable and made it clear that anyone who carries out such serious assaults can expect to face a determined police investigation and a lengthy prison sentence.

Following an investigation by Nottinghamshire Police, Lemos was arrested and later admitted causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He pleaded guilty on the day his trial was due to begin.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court on Friday, July 24, Judge Stuart Rafferty described the attack as unnecessary, unlawful, and driven by revenge. Lemos, of Northumberland Close, Nottingham, was sentenced to nine years in prison for the brutal assault.
