Police Confront a Christian Preacher for Reading a Bible Verse That the Officer Said Could Be Offensive to the Public (Video)

A street preacher was confronted by police after reading a Bible passage aloud during a public sermon, leading to a heated exchange that has sparked debate online about freedom of speech and religious expression.
In a video shared on social media, the preacher can be heard reading from the Bible before telling the crowd: “If you continue to commit your wickedness, you will not enter into the kingdom of God.”
An officer then interrupted him, explaining that the concern was not the Bible reading itself but the comments that followed. The officer suggested that, given the people gathered nearby, the preacher’s words could be interpreted as being directed at members of the crowd.

The preacher strongly rejected that claim, insisting that he was addressing everyone equally rather than any particular individual or group. He repeatedly said, “I’m preaching to everyone,” arguing that his message was based on Scripture and was intended for all people.
The officer responded that, regardless of the preacher’s intentions, the context and the audience present were important. The conversation continued as the preacher maintained that he had the legal right to preach in public and read directly from the Bible.
During the exchange, the preacher accused the officer of focusing more on people’s lifestyles than on the Bible itself. He said the Scriptures clearly describe certain actions as sinful and argued that he was simply sharing what the Bible teaches rather than expressing his own opinions.

The preacher also warned that preventing him from preaching could become a legal matter. He said he did not want the situation to end up in court but claimed that Christian lawyers were prepared to defend cases involving freedom of speech and religious liberty if necessary.
As the discussion continued, the preacher told the officer that he was disrupting his sermon. Supporters nearby encouraged him to continue, with some shouting, “Hallelujah!” and “Preach!” while he insisted he had been reading “straight from the Bible.”
