Psychiatrist makes frightening prediction about Donald Trump’s decline: ‘He wants to do it’

A psychiatrist made a serious and alarming prediction on Wednesday about what could happen during the rest of President Donald Trump’s second term.

Dr. John Gartner, a psychiatrist and former professor at Johns Hopkins University, spoke during an interview on “The Daily Beast Podcast” with Hugh Dougherty. During the conversation, he said that the recent Republican primary loss of Congressman Thomas Massie may have made Trump even more powerful and confident inside the Republican Party.

Gartner warned that he fears Trump could eventually make a decision that many people once thought would be impossible, such as ordering a nuclear strike against Iran or another country. He also claimed that there may no longer be people around Trump willing or able to challenge him or stop him from making dangerous decisions.

Gartner said he truly believes Americans could one day wake up and discover that Trump had launched a first nuclear strike. He explained that he believes Trump wants that kind of power and now has fewer restrictions around him than before.

The psychiatrist has repeatedly argued that Trump shows signs of frontotemporal dementia, a condition that can affect judgment, self-control, and decision-making. Gartner admitted that he has never personally examined Trump, but he said he feels strongly about his opinion based on Trump’s public behavior and the way he believes Trump has changed over time.

According to Gartner, Trump appears more impulsive and less restrained than he was years ago. He claimed Trump no longer shows the level of caution or self-control that would normally stop a leader from acting recklessly.

Gartner also criticized the people currently surrounding Trump. He described them as loyal supporters who are unlikely to challenge him, unlike some officials from Trump’s first administration. He mentioned former figures such as James Mattis, John F. Kelly, and Rex Tillerson, saying those kinds of voices are no longer present around Trump.

He also pointed to Tuesday’s primary results involving Massie as proof that almost no Republican politicians are willing to publicly oppose Trump anymore. Gartner argued that the Republican Party has become completely aligned behind Trump, with very little internal resistance remaining.

By the end of the interview, Gartner stressed that he believes people should take these concerns seriously because, in his view, the political environment around Trump has changed dramatically and there are now fewer barriers standing in his way.
