Donald Trump Tells Las Vegas Crowd What He Would Do to Liberal Supreme Court Justices If He Had the Power
President Donald Trump made a surprising statement while speaking at a rally in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
During his appearance at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa, Trump discussed the judges who serve on the US Supreme Court. He praised the three liberal justices for often standing together and supporting the same position in important cases.
Trump then compared them with the conservative justices, many of whom were appointed by Republican presidents. He complained that the conservative members of the court do not always agree or vote together.
“The Republican judges or justices, they don’t stick together,” Trump told the crowd. Speaking about the liberal justices, he added that they “all stick together like glue” and said he respected their unity.
However, Trump quickly followed the praise with strong criticism. He claimed that the liberal justices were “horrible” for the United States because of their decisions and political views.
Trump then said he would like to remove them from their positions if he had the power to do so. “I’d like to fire them. I would fire them if I could,” he declared, causing loud applause from many people in the audience.
However, a US president cannot simply fire a Supreme Court justice. Justices normally serve for life unless they resign, retire, die, or are removed through the constitutional impeachment process.
Trump’s remarks showed his continuing frustration with judges who make decisions that go against his policies. They also revealed that, despite strongly disagreeing with the liberal justices, he admired the way they appeared to remain united.
